Alexander Donnelly (Producer) is the founder of Fortress Productions, which has been involved with the Broadway productions of Waitress, Oh, Hello, Sunday in the Park with George starring Jake Gyllenhaal, and Meteor Shower, as well as the national tour of Hundred Days by The Bengsons (NYTW, La Jolla Playhouse). In Development: Alice By Heart (MCC). Alex’s other credits include Dream Ticket (NY Fringe 2016, winner for best director) and Plath. (NY Fringe 2015, sold out run and nationally reviewed), both of which made the Producer’s Perspective list of “10 shows that stand out at Fringe.”

Alex is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of the Corkscrew Theater Festival. Formed in 2017, Corkscrew’s mission is to reduce the steep financial and material barriers for early-career artists striving to produce work unreliant on traditional models. Merging the institutional support of a theater company, the soul of a collective, and the energy of a festival, Corkscrew prioritizes new and underrepresented voices creating spectacularly eclectic, defiantly exhilarating, subversively jubilant theater.

He received his BA from Columbia University in Financial Economics and Political Science and worked on Wall Street before leaving to be the Director of Corporate Development at Production Resource Group (PRG) in 2018. There he advised on a number of strategic M&A transactions that expanded PRG’s international presence in TV and FIlm, most notably with the acquisition of VER. He transitioned to the Broadway division in 2020 and now manages the Lighting, Audio, and Video teams in Secaucus, NJ.

Alex is an avid runner and just completed his seventh marathon with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). His other non-profit commitments include Lincoln Center’s Young Patrons, Lincoln Center Theater's Angels, and New York Theatre Workshop’s 4th Street Bar Association. When he is not seeing theatre or running around the big loop in Central Park, he is singing show-tunes at The Friki Tiki, a bar he co-owns in Branford, CT.

Awards: Lion's Pride Honoree, Columbia University - awarded to Founding Artistic Director Tom Kapusta and Alex Donnelly for their work on the Corkscrew Theater Festival.
